Manuel Pereira Silva

Consultant in Population Policies and Institutional Development

Manuel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Space Sociology from A. At Lumière II University in Lyon, France. He has been an immigrant, a public servant, a diplomat and a mayor, but became a consultant in 1991 covering questions regarding institutional development and the environment, particularly while working to define Cape Verde's "Protected Areas." He has also worked on policies related to fighting poverty, investment and local development, and has coordinated the training activities of the Training Center in S. Jorge (INIDA). He is currently a Consultant in Population Policies and Institutional Development in the Centro de Politicas Estratégicas.  He is fluent in French and is guided by basic principals such as loyalty and ethics, as well as mutual respect.
